Building the Skills to Successfully Manage “The Job”

At this time all job related readiness programs are being first screened through active participation in either Basic Living Skills Transitional programming, Life Coaching, or the counselor seeing them for counseling.

 

 

Soft Skills for Job Success (SSJS)!

This program is for those members 15 and up and can be divided up between “teen” and “young adult” depending on enrollment.  The program is a “closed” type of group meaning no one can enroll past the preset deadline (all members start together on week 1 and attend all sessions together building on the skills as the weeks progress).

This program addresses the higher relationship skills needed to successfully hold a job, but also the higher skills for successfully managing yourself in more “mature” settings and people.  Topics covered include: Interpersonal communication, work habits, problem solving & decision making, conflict resolution, effective listening, dealing with differences, time management, and more.

This program is only available for those who have been screened and approved for it.

Team Work Skills (TWS)

This program is for members 9-12th and 18 and older.  The program is a “closed” type of group meaning no one can enroll past the preset deadline (all members start together on week 1 and attend all sessions together building on the skills as the weeks progress).

This program is focused on networking, problem solving, and critical thinking as a TEAM.  It is for those considered high functioning.  Conflict resolution and communication are embedded in the programming along with reflection activities.

This program is only available to those who have been screened and approved for it.

Middle Skill Job Exploration (MSJE)

Middle Skill Jobs are those that require a HS education but less than a 4 yr college degree.

This program is for members 16 yrs old and older and is through ZOOM, UTH’s online e-conferencing web platform. The program is a “open” type of group meaning a member at any time BUT each session does have a deadline for the enrollment.

This program has a mandatory session that must be completed BEFORE the member can participate in any of the subsequent field based exploration sessions.

This program is focused on middle skill job exploration including what they are, skills needed, routes to achieve them, etc.

It is for those considered high functioning.

This program is only available for those who have been screened and approved for it.

Entry Level Career Exploration & Skills Needed for Job Success (ELJS)

This program is for those members 15 and up and can be divided up between “teen” and “young adult” depending on enrollment. The program is a “closed” type of group meaning no one can enroll past the preset deadline (all members start together on week 1 and attend all sessions together building on the skills as the weeks progress).

This program addresses the aspects related to entry level jobs which ALL start at!  The program has multiple examples of entry level jobs that they as a group will discuss.  They will also discuss building a resume, basic interview aspects, work etiquette, their work preferences, and all the social communication aspects that go along with jobs (nonverbal vs. verbal, stated vs implied, written vs. said).

Centauri 

This program operates on a stand alone basis through ZOOM, UTH’s web based e-conferencing learning web platform.

This program is for those 16 and older and considered high functioning.

United Through HOPE is now a vendor for Texas Workforce Commission (TWC)

Staff at United Through HOPE are credentialed in all areas offered by UNTWise and that TWC may accept.  This includes Vocational Adjustment Training (VAT programs), Pre-ETS programming for social needs, Supported Employment, Autism Endorsement aspects (including Environmental Work Assessments and offering Autism Supports), Job Trainer & Job Exploration.

Disclaimer: For any TWC client TWC must authorize and UTH must accept the TWC terms and abide by TWC terms if TWC funds will be used.
